Named the product that improves sleep quality

Scientists from leading US universities have found that daily consumption of one avocado can positively affect sleep quality. The study was published in the journal Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA).
The experiment involved 969 adult volunteers from different ethnic groups with increased waist circumference - one of the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. Participants were divided into two groups: one included one avocado daily in their diet, while the second ate this fruit no more than twice a month. The rest of the diet remained unchanged for six months.
Throughout the study, scientists tracked physical activity levels, smoking, sleep, body weight, blood pressure, as well as lipid and carbohydrate metabolism indicators. Those who ate avocado every day showed improvement in several parameters: reduced total cholesterol and "bad" LDL levels, as well as improved sleep.
Specialists attribute these effects to the rich composition of avocado. One serving (approximately one-third of a medium fruit) contains about 13 mg of tryptophan - an amino acid from which melatonin, which regulates sleep, is synthesized. Avocado also contains folic acid, which stimulates the production of this hormone.
Additionally, a third of the fruit contains 15 mg of magnesium (about 4% of the daily requirement), necessary for relaxing muscles and the nervous system. Avocado is also rich in soluble fiber, which helps reduce cholesterol levels, and monounsaturated fats - about five grams per serving. The latter help reduce LDL and protect the cardiovascular system.
