What has risen in price the most in Azerbaijan over the past 5 years? - Statistics

According to an analysis conducted by the Media Analysis Center (MAC) based on official data from the State Statistics Committee, over the past 5 years - from May 2020 to May 2025 - consumer prices in Azerbaijan increased by 41.8%.
As reported by MAC, looking at the indicators recorded in May over the past 5 years, the lowest price increase (0.3%) was registered in 2024.
In May 2025, consumer prices increased by 6.3% compared to May 2024. This means that inflation in the country over the past year was 6.3%.
The highest price increase for the month of May during the last 5 years (13.7%) was recorded in 2022.

Over the past year, the largest price increase was observed for food products. From May 2024 to May 2025, food prices in the country increased by 8.1%. It is worth noting that in May 2024, food products were 1.8% cheaper compared to the same month in 2023.
Overall, over the past 5 years, the highest increase in food prices was recorded in 2022 and amounted to 21%.
Over the past year, prices for non-food products increased by 2.7%. Over the past 5 years, the largest price increase in this category was recorded in 2023 (10.7%), and the smallest - in May of last year (1%).
