A popular dish that becomes poisonous if eaten the next day

One of the most popular dishes in the world can become dangerous to health if consumed the day after preparation.
We're talking about rice - a product that is present in the diet of billions of people. However, improper storage can turn it into a real poison.
According to experts, the main danger lies in Bacillus cereus bacteria, which may be present in raw rice. These microorganisms can survive even after heat treatment. If cooked rice is left at room temperature for several hours, the bacteria begin to actively multiply, releasing toxins that can cause serious poisoning.
Symptoms of poisoning include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, complications requiring medical attention may occur.
To avoid the risk, experts recommend following simple rules:
After cooking, rice should be quickly cooled and stored in the refrigerator.
Cooked rice can be stored in the refrigerator for no more than 24 hours.
Before consumption, reheat rice to at least 75°C to kill possible bacteria.
"Many people are used to cooking rice in advance, but this can be dangerous," say nutritionists. If you're unsure about storage conditions, it's better not to risk it and prepare a fresh portion.
