Common mistake when consuming coffee revealed

Famous dietitian Paula Martin shared an important warning for all coffee lovers. In an interview with El Español, the expert revealed a common mistake made by many enthusiasts of this aromatic beverage.
"Avoid consuming coffee during meals, as it inhibits iron absorption," warned Martin. The specialist particularly emphasized that coffee especially negatively affects the absorption of iron from plant sources.
According to the dietitian, iron is found in various foods: liver, red meat, fish, legumes, tofu, spinach, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. Martin noted that while combining animal products with coffee might still be acceptable, plant-based foods are much better paired with products rich in vitamin C.
