A nutritionist explained why strict diets prevent weight loss
Sharp calorie restriction while maintaining an unhealthy diet is the main mistake of people striving to lose weight. This was stated by dietitian Natalya Mizinova in a conversation with NEWS.ru.
According to the expert, many mistakenly rely only on a calorie deficit, not paying attention to the quality of food.
A person decides to eat 1.5 thousand kilocalories, drinks a sweet cocktail for lunch, and eats a protein bar for dinner. They think they stayed within their calories, and their weight will, of course, start to drop because a deficit has been created. However, in doing so, they completely deprive their body of necessary proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and microelements.
The dietitian also named other dangerous strategies. According to her, the very first mistake of those losing weight is the decision to go on a diet.
I consider it the main one, because sharp calorie restriction is absolutely wrong.
