Zelensky thanked Azerbaijan for supporting Ukraine and constructive dialogue
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky received Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv and discussed defense and economic cooperation with him.
Zelensky announced this on his Telegram channel.
"I received Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov. The minister is visiting Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. He began his visit in Irpin, where he visited a school, a hospital, and a rehabilitation center that Azerbaijan is providing assistance to. We are very grateful that during these difficult days for our country and our people, you found the opportunity to come and support us. I am grateful for the solidarity with the Ukrainian people," he wrote.
Zelensky said he informed Bayramov about the ongoing Russian strikes on Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, and Russia's blocking of grain corridors.
The parties discussed high-level diplomatic contacts, defense cooperation, as well as economic interaction in the fields of energy, the oil and gas industry, and agriculture.
"I am grateful to Azerbaijan for its support of Ukraine, energy and humanitarian aid, as well as constructive dialogue," Zelensky stated.
