Zakir Hasanov met with Yashar Guler

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army Colonel General Karim Valiyev, Deputy Minister of Defense – Commander of the Air Force Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, and other officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan are making a working visit to Türkiye to participate in the "Distinguished Observer Day" during the multinational joint exercise EFES-2026.

As reported by Azerbaijan's defense ministry, during the visit, Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with the Minister of National Defense of the brotherly country, Yaşar Güler, and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with his counterpart, General of the Army Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.

During the meetings, the current state and prospects of cooperation between our countries in the military, military-technical, and military-educational spheres were discussed, and the importance of joint projects and exercises being implemented in both countries was emphasized.

It should be noted that as part of the visit, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense is planned to participate in the daytime and nighttime phases of the "Distinguished Observer Day" of the multinational joint exercise EFES-2026, in which servicemembers of the Azerbaijani Army and a total of 10,300 military personnel from 50 countries are taking part.
