The West's "democratic game" has been a subject of debate for many years. It is no secret that certain circles of the "old continent," having turned democracy into a mechanism of total control, have monopolized this concept. Democracy, which has become a tool of manipulation, often serves as a mechanism of interference.

In a report aired on Baku TV, it is noted that, for example, Reza Pahlavi, the son of the former Shah of Iran, participated in the Munich Security Conference a few days ago. In his speech, he stated that if he comes to power, he will recognize Israel and export Iranian oil and gas to Europe. This raises the question: since when has Europe begun to consider a monarchical system of governance as a democratic institution, that Reza Pahlavi received an invitation to the Munich Security Conference?

Apparently, certain Western circles, in accordance with their interests, can present leaders elected by popular vote as undemocratic, while portraying the son of a shah as a representative of democracy. Consequently, when interests come to the fore, even monarchy can be perceived as democracy.

In the hands of these circles, the tools of democracy are used to shape and manipulate public opinion. It is precisely for this purpose that the concept of so-called "independent media" is being exported to the world.

Independent media means that they do not belong to the state. However, the problem is that having escaped state control, they still belong to someone. In this case, media can become a mechanism of influence for international political circles with extensive business opportunities that serve the interests of particular states. In such circumstances, it is clear that there are interested parties in the existence of so-called independent media.

Commenting on the topic, MP Elman Nasirov noted that the UN marks May 3 as Press Freedom Day. However, at the same time, in its reports, it acknowledges the absence of free and independent media in almost 180 countries of the world:

"This fact is voiced even at the level of the UN Secretary-General. It is reported that under the guise of free and independent media, attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of individual states are becoming widespread."
