Two-Faced Policy of Tehran: 30 Years of Silence on Occupation and Protest Against Peace
In recent days, Iran has intensified both its diplomatic channels and government-controlled media resources, once again finding itself in the spotlight due to another round of statements regarding the South Caucasus and, in particular, Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in a video report by Baku TV.
The report notes that Iran's military-political circles are expressing open concern in their statements regarding the new geopolitical realities taking shape in the region. In this context, the authors of the report recall the regular statements by Iranian officials that Tehran will not allow changes to the geopolitical borders in the region.
The report also cites a statement by the former Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan and current Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Protocol and Official Events, Seyid Abbas Mousavi, who called the Caucasus a shared home and emphasized that the presence of external forces here undermines stability.
In the Baku TV report, this position is subjected to harsh and justified criticism. The report raises the legitimate question of why this region was not considered a shared home for Iran during the thirty years when Azerbaijani lands were under occupation, mosques were desecrated, and cities were razed to the ground.
