The US agrees to a two-week ceasefire regarding Iran, which will be bilateral.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by American President Donald Trump on Truth Social. He added that he came to this decision after conversations with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the country's Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.

"They asked me to refrain from sending devastating forces into Iran tonight, and, subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran's agreement to the FULL, IMMEDIATE and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend bombings and attacks on Iran for a period of two weeks," Trump wrote.

The head of the White House noted that all US military objectives have already been "exceeded" and the United States has "come very far in reaching a final agreement regarding long-term peace with Iran and peace in the Middle East." According to the American president, Washington received a 10-point proposal from Tehran which "is an acceptable basis for negotiations," and the two-week period is needed to finalize a peace agreement in the Middle East.

"On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also on behalf of the countries of the Middle East, it is a great honor for me that this long-standing problem is close to being resolved," Trump concluded.
