The opening ceremony of the exhibition "Reborn into the Water" by American sculptor and artist Carol Feuerman took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

As reported by AZERTAG, the exhibition opening was attended by the daughter-in-law of President Ilham Aliyev, Alyona Aliyeva, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov, official guests, diplomats, renowned art figures, and others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov noted that the Center is opening this year with a grand exhibition and the presented project will be one of the most significant expositions of the year: "We often encountered Carol Feuerman's works at international exhibitions and, finally, we managed to bring these works to Azerbaijan. Most exhibits were brought from the USA, as well as from several European countries, and one of the works is being presented for the first time in Baku," said Anar Alakbarov.

Anar Alakbarov thanked Carol Feuerman, noting that this is her first visit to Azerbaijan, and emphasized that she has already become a true friend of our country and made an important contribution to promoting Azerbaijan in the world.

In her speech, sculptor and artist Carol Feuerman said that art has been the main means of self-expression throughout her life, a tool for telling stories, a way to explore ideas, and the most native language for expressing emotions.

She emphasized that this grand building and its architecture are the perfect place for the exhibition. Every detail in the Heydar Aliyev Center seems to resemble the rhythm of water, and the overall shape of the space resembles waves. According to the sculptor, it is especially impressive that such beauty was created based on the idea of a female architect.

Carol Feuerman noted that the works presented at the exhibition are dedicated to the theme of water.

"Water gives life to humans, nourishes, cleanses, and transforms people. Through various artistic interpretations, a series of works is presented demonstrating the multifaceted nature of water, as well as the complex relationship that humans have built with this important element. One of my works that has special significance for me is the image of a swimming woman. I created this piece during one of the most difficult periods of my life, for me this image is a symbol of resilience and endurance," she added.

Note that the exhibition "Reborn into the Water" is both a personal story and a reflection of broader social thought.

Through the works presented in the exhibition, the sculptor aims to promote empathy and overcome outdated views.

The author's work "Rut" was presented to the public for the first time at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

Carol Feuerman is known for creating works with a strong realistic effect, as well as her figurative sculptures depicting swimmers and dancers.

The exhibition "Reborn into the Water" presented in Baku covers a wide period of time, from the artist's works in the 1970s to the swimmer figures of recent decades.

The "Swimmers" series is a symbolic expression of Feuerman's creativity. The sculptures, made of resin, painted bronze, and stainless steel, invite viewers to rediscover the indomitable strength of the human body. The artist implies not only physical strength but also considers it important to reflect on the inner strength that overcomes personal and social difficulties.

Carol Feuerman's works have been exhibited at prestigious venues around the world. Street installations have been displayed in places such as Park Avenue and Central Park in New York, Poydras Corridor in New Orleans, and Avenue George V in Paris. Today, Carol Feuerman's sculptures adorn more than 30 museum collections and various public spaces around the world, and are also held in private collections.
