Successes of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement Presented in Geneva
Strengthening cooperation among international and regional parliamentary organizations creates opportunities for sharing experience, jointly seeking solutions to common problems, and more fully reflecting the priorities of various regions in the global agenda.
As Report informs, this was stated by the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova at a meeting with heads and representatives of the diplomatic corps in Geneva as part of a business visit to Switzerland.
Gafarova spoke about the international activities of the Milli Majlis, its participation in various regional and international parliamentary organizations, and in this context mentioned the activities of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), established in 2021 on the initiative of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
She noted that during Azerbaijan's chairmanship of this organization, institutional structures were formed and ties were expanded with regional as well as international parliamentary organizations.
Gafarova added that the events held by the NAM Parliamentary Network brought together more than a thousand participants, including heads of parliaments and deputies from more than 70 countries.
