President Ilham Aliyev called Masoud Pezeshkian
On January 31, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
As reported by Oxu.Az with reference to AZERTAG, during the conversation, it was once again noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are based on principles of friendship, brotherhood, and good neighborliness, and that historical, ethnic, and religious ties exist between our peoples.
During the telephone conversation, the visits of the President of Iran to Azerbaijan, the meetings between the heads of state, and the fruitful negotiations they held were mentioned with satisfaction, and it was noted that this makes a significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations. It was emphasized that the construction work on the automobile bridge across the Araz River, connecting the points of Agbend and Kelale, is proceeding according to schedule.
The head of our state, expressing concern about the situation that has arisen in the region, stated Azerbaijan's readiness to contribute to eliminating tensions and emphasized that our country advocates resolving such issues through negotiations and mutual understanding.
President Masoud Pezeshkian, for his part, expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev.
During the telephone conversation, views were exchanged on various aspects of friendly and brotherly relations between our countries and future joint steps, and an agreement was reached to continue contacts.
