On February 25, the opening of the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center took place.

As reported by AZERTAC, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the center.

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev informed the head of state about the conditions created at the center.

It was noted that the foundation of this center as the Lankaran Vocational Technical School was laid in 1969. In 2018, the Lerik Vocational School and the Lankaran Vocational Lyceum were merged, and on their basis the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center was established. Since 2024, the center has been functioning as a public legal entity.

The center, equipped with modern infrastructure, includes an academic building, a sports building, a dormitory, a culinary training building, a training and guest house, an agricultural laboratory and workshops, a greenhouse, as well as an auto repair workshop and a computerized numerical control machine workshop. It also houses computer science rooms, modern classrooms, a military training room, a library, an assembly hall seating 300 people, and a cafeteria. A dormitory building accommodating 53 people has been constructed on the premises, and after reconstruction, the number of buildings has increased to seven.

In the 2025/2026 academic year, 962 students are studying at the center in 55 groups across 42 specializations. Of these, 385 are female students. The educational institution provides training in the fields of tourism, agriculture, industry, services, IT technologies, and alternative energy.

Following the establishment of a new material and technical base, the center offers training in many modern specializations, including "technician for maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles," "computer network and network administration," "technical operation of program-controlled industrial equipment," "cybersecurity," "programming in computer systems," and "construction and maintenance of buildings." The center also trains specialists and technicians in the installation and repair of power transmission lines and solar panels.

The center provides students with knowledge at the levels of initial vocational, vocational-technical, and higher technical education. Currently, 138 people are employed here.

The Lankaran State Vocational Education Center closely cooperates in the field of personnel training with nearly 30 institutions representing the public and private sectors. This cooperation includes joint personnel training with the private sector, engagement of specialists in teaching, industrial internships, master classes, as well as the implementation of social and innovative projects.
