Mehriban Aliyeva visited the National Museum of Georgia in Tbilisi
On April 6, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva visited the National Museum of Georgia in Tbilisi.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the National Museum of Georgia features exhibits from various periods of the country's history.
The museum exhibition "Stone Age in Georgia" presents the most significant archaeological heritage discovered in the country. To date, more than 500 Stone Age monuments have been registered in Georgia. A special place in the exhibition is held by findings discovered in Dmanisi (Kvemo Kartli region). Human remains and tools dating back approximately 1.8 million years are presented here. The "Archaeological Treasures" exhibition showcases unique jewelry found in Georgia, dating from the 3rd millennium BC to the 4th century AD.
After viewing the exhibitions, a collection titled "A New Look at Cultural Heritage," consisting of five rare carpets produced by "Azerkhalcha," was presented as a gift to the National Museum of Georgia on behalf of First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva. The collection represents a modern interpretation of ancient carpet designs. The collection includes the "Nakhchivan" carpet, representing a synthesis of classical elements, particularly "Khatai" and "Chelebi" motifs in a modern composition; the "Achma-Yumma" carpet, reworked using rich ornaments of the Karabakh carpet school; the "Karabakh" carpet with rhythmic and repeating elements reminiscent of the harmony of the universe; the "Bendi-Rumi" composition and "The Hunt," a modern expression of Eastern traditions in art; and the "Pazyryk" carpet — a modern interpretation of the world's oldest pile carpet with a 2,500-year history.
The museum's leadership expressed gratitude to First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva for the gifts.
