Mehriban Aliyeva met with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia

First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva met with the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, who is visiting Azerbaijan, on March 16.

As reported by BAKU.WS, welcoming Valentina Matvienko, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva noted that her visit to our country will contribute to the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the states.

The Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia expressed gratitude to the First Vice-President for the reception and hospitality.

The guest emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary relations and mutual visits of parliamentary delegations in strengthening friendly relations between the countries.

During the meeting, it was noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Russia have the character of strategic alliance, and there was an exchange of views on issues of bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
