Pashinyan: August 2025 marked the beginning of Armenia's peaceful life

August 2025 marked the beginning of a new peaceful and prosperous life for the Republic of Armenia.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in his Telegram channel.

"Peace has been established [in the South Caucasus region], and it should be the subject of our daily care, as well as acquire an institutional foundation. August 2025 became the starting point for a peaceful and prosperous life of the Republic of Armenia. I congratulate all of us on this event," emphasized the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan also stated that the Declaration of Independence of Armenia adopted in 1990 "essentially expressed the collective sentiments of the political and intellectual elite operating in the country at the time of its adoption."

"This happened because the key ideological provisions of the Declaration were contradictory and expressed a model of our collective patriotism that the Soviet Union had been instilling in us drop by drop, but consistently since the 1950s," writes Pashinyan.

According to him, the social psychology formed in this way pursued the goal of making the existence of an independent Armenian state impossible.

The politician called the current government strategy the most correct one, under which peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and dialogue with Turkey became possible.
