Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the development of the Middle Corridor with the head of TRACECA
Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Jasurbek Choriyev, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission.
This was reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and TRACECA, as well as the expansion of transport and communication links in the region, were discussed.
Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to cooperation within the TRACECA framework and plays an active role in the development of transport links between Europe and Asia. It was emphasized that the country's favorable geographic location, modern transport infrastructure, and transit capabilities make an important contribution to effective and sustainable development.
The minister provided information on the work being done to develop transport infrastructure, expand the capabilities of the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and improve railway and road connections.
The importance of further enhancing the potential of the Middle Corridor, increasing cargo volumes along the route, simplifying and digitizing transit procedures, as well as strengthening coordination among the participating countries was noted.
The parties also exchanged views on opportunities for developing regional transport links and other issues of mutual interest.
