In Azerbaijan, the State Program on Food Security for 2027-2032 has been approved

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree approving the "State Program on Ensuring Food Safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2032."

As reported by BAKU.WS, the document states:

"Guided by paragraphs 3 and 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to provide the country's population with safe and quality food products, enhance the efficiency and transparency of the food safety system, and bring it into compliance with international requirements, I hereby decree:

1. To approve the "State Program on Ensuring Food Safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2032" (hereinafter referred to as the State Program).

2. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall resolve issues arising from this decree.

3. The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall:

3.1. coordinate the measures envisaged in the State Program and monitor their implementation;

3.2. inform the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan once a year on the progress of implementation of the measures envisaged in the State Program.

4. Monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of measures envisaged in the State Program shall be carried out by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication on the basis of an order from the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

5. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, jointly with the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, shall take the necessary measures to ensure that the required financial resources for funding the measures envisaged in the State Program are provided for in the process of drafting the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan and state investment programs."
