The 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey will be held in Baku.

As BAKU.WS reports, this was announced to Report by the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan.

It is noted that the next meeting of the commission will take place on December 22-23.

A delegation headed by Turkey's Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will arrive in Azerbaijan to participate in the meeting. The Azerbaijani side will be led by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

During the meeting, steps to be taken toward achieving the goal set by the presidents of both countries to increase mutual trade volume to $15 billion will be discussed.

In parallel with the commission meeting, the II Azerbaijan-Turkish Investment Forum will also be held in Baku. Its purpose is to deepen economic ties, bring together business circles, and develop joint investment opportunities.

Additionally, a meeting between Turkish and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs is planned within the framework of MÜSİAD.

According to official data, Turkey has long been one of Azerbaijan's main trading partners. In 2024, Turkey's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $3.1 billion, while imports from Azerbaijan totaled $4.8 billion. Currently, Turkey ranks second among countries to which Azerbaijan exports products and third in terms of import volume.

Recall that the 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey was held in Ankara last May.
