Assistant to the President on the reasons for Azerbaijan's non-participation in the CIS Economic Council meeting in Moscow

The non-participation of the Azerbaijani delegation in the meeting of the CIS Economic Council in Moscow may be explained by a number of objective reasons, however, this is in no way related to the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Report, this was stated to journalists on the sidelines of the III Shusha Global Media Forum by the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev.
"The absence of the Azerbaijani delegation at the meeting can be explained by various factors, including changes in the personal schedules of delegation members," Hajiyev explained.
Responding to a question about a possible connection between the cancellation of the visit and the AZAL aircraft incident that occurred in December 2024, the Presidential Assistant emphasized: "This event is held within the framework of the CIS. Issues on the bilateral agenda between Russia and Azerbaijan have no relation to this."
