Alexander Vučić called Ilham Aliyev

On April 19, President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić called President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS, during the telephone conversation, the official visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Serbia in February of this year and the 1st meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia with the participation of the heads of state were mentioned with satisfaction, and the significance of the documents signed within the framework of the visit in terms of strengthening cooperation was emphasized.

The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Serbia exchanged views on the further strengthening of bilateral relations, discussed plans related to deepening economic cooperation, developing interaction in the energy and investment spheres, and new joint projects of strategic importance for both states.

Once again expressing gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the constant support provided to Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić reaffirmed his country's determination to continue developing relations with Azerbaijan in the spirit of sincere friendship, mutual respect, and shared interest in economic progress.

Aleksandar Vučić regarded all of this as confirmation of the strong partnership and mutual trust between our countries. The President of Serbia also announced that he would participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, which will be held in Baku next month.

During the telephone conversation, satisfaction was expressed over the fact that the Serbian airline Air Serbia will begin operating direct flights on the Belgrade–Baku route starting May 3, and it was emphasized that this is an important step aimed at bringing the two peoples closer together and strengthening our economies, including tourism potential.

The heads of state also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, once again noting the importance of restoring peace and stability as one of the key conditions for the security and development of the region.
