Wedding - is it an expression of national identity or a demonstration of status?

A new episode of the Aktual gündəm program has been released on Baku TV.

The program discussed the essence of wedding ceremonies held in our country, their impact on society and the social behavior they form.

Are traditions preserved at weddings or is a culture of debt being formed? Does a wedding have the goal of creating a family or has it turned into a test before culture? Is a wedding an expression of national identity or a demonstration of status?

An exchange of opinions on these and other issues was conducted on air with Professor, ethnographer Tavakkul Salimov, religious scholar Elshad Miri, Milli Majlis deputy Jeyhun Mammadov, and deputy chairman of the "National Front" party Muhammad Asadullazade.
