Venezuela thanked Azerbaijan for support after devastating earthquakes
Venezuela expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the solidarity shown and condolences regarding the numerous victims and large-scale destruction caused by two powerful earthquakes.
The country's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Iván Gil Pinto, wrote about this on his page on the social network X.
"The Government of Venezuela expresses its sincere gratitude to Azerbaijan for the message of solidarity and condolences addressed to our people," the head of the foreign affairs ministry noted.
It should be recalled that on the night of June 25, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 struck northern Venezuela. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) later reported two tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, occurring 40 seconds apart. The authorities of the South American country declared a state of emergency. According to the latest data, the death toll from the earthquake reached 164, with 971 injured.
