The feature film "Tagiyev: Oil" was presented in London
The presentation of the feature film "Taghiyev: Oil," which tells the story of the life and activities of the outstanding philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, took place in London.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the presentation, held in the majestic Princess Anne Theatre of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in central London, was attended by the head of Baku Media Center and general producer of the film Arzu Aliyeva, producer Orman Aliyev, director Zaur Gasimli, People's Artist Parviz Mamadrzayev, ambassadors of Georgia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and other states, numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps, officials of the United Kingdom's Foreign Office, members of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, representatives of the City of London, the Commonwealth of Nations, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and other organizations, as well as bp; public and political figures, and members of the Azerbaijani community living in Britain.
The film was produced by Baku Media Center with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and the Film Agency of Azerbaijan, with Neqsol Holding, Kapital Bank, Bakcell and Norm serving as sponsors. The film is the first part of the multi-part project "Taghiyev." It depicts the life journey of Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev from a simple stonemason to an influential oil industrialist in the context of the oil boom in Baku in the late 19th – early 20th centuries.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the United Kingdom Elin Suleymanov, highlighting the important role that the film's protagonist played in the economic and cultural life of Azerbaijan, noted that the hardships and trials Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev faced along the way did not force him to retreat. The diplomat particularly emphasized that one of Taghiyev's most cherished wishes was the development of education and the establishment of the first secular school for girls in the Muslim East.
Drawing attention to the fact that throughout various periods of history there have been outstanding individuals who played an important role in the life of the Azerbaijani people, Ambassador Elin Suleymanov spoke about the recently marked 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and about the decisive and invaluable role of the Great Leader in bringing Azerbaijan out of deep crises at the end of the last century and setting the country on a path of stable development.
Participants of the film presentation ceremony in London, sharing their impressions, expressed sincere admiration for the creative team of Baku Media Center, which produced a high-quality project, and noted that the film conveys extremely interesting information about Azerbaijan, its history, culture, values and path of development. They emphasized that such projects play a significant role in promoting Azerbaijan in the world, and that Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev embodies such qualities inherent to the Azerbaijani people as humanism, compassion, generosity, tolerance and courage.
People's Artist Parviz Mamadrzayev, speaking with AZERTAC, called it gratifying that the film's presentation was held in London following its screenings in Russia and Los Angeles in the United States. According to him, the film was received by the audience with great interest, and the creative team received many congratulations.
