The expert Kyamran Asadov spoke for the first time about the criminal case

Education expert Kamran Asadov does not plead guilty in the criminal case.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Unikal, he made this statement after the court hearing in the Ganja City Court.

"Clearly in response to the judge's questions during today's court hearing, I said that I do not consider myself guilty of the charges. I believe that the trial will be fair. There is a fair court in Azerbaijan, and justice will prevail," Asadov said.

Note that based on the evidence collected, Kamran Asadov is charged under Articles 302.3 (illegal sale or acquisition of technical means for obtaining secret information) and 32.5, 308.1 (complicity in abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and the investigating authority has chosen a preventive measure not related to arrest.

K.Asadov has previously been held criminally liable. In 2015, he was found guilty of fraud and defamation and sentenced to a fine and two years of correctional labor with 15% of his income being withheld in favor of the state.
