Aging processes in humans are triggered as early as age 25.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Gazeta.Ru," First Deputy Head of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency Tatyana Yakovleva spoke at the Forum of Future Technologies and noted that biological aging mechanisms begin to manifest at approximately 25 years of age.

According to her, regardless of whether people are ready to accept this fact, it is from this threshold that age-related changes gradually become activated in the body. She added that the scientific community has several approaches to explaining aging. In particular, these include metabolic disorders, the development of sarcopenia — a decline in muscle mass — as well as the accumulation of so-called "zombie cells" that have lost the ability to divide normally but continue to exert an influence on tissues.

Meanwhile, foreign researchers also draw attention to psychological factors. Earlier, a group of scientists led by Mariana Rodriguez from New York University School of Global Public Health analyzed data from 726 female participants in the major MIDUS project and concluded that pronounced anxiety about health deterioration can accelerate cellular aging.

The authors of the study found that women who were acutely distressed about potential illnesses and physical decline demonstrated higher rates of molecular aging — regardless of whether they had chronic diagnoses. At the same time, concerns related to changes in appearance or reproductive age did not show a statistically significant association with accelerated aging.

According to a number of international experts, these data confirm that the rate of age-related changes is influenced not only by biology but also by a person's psycho-emotional state.
