MEDIA is holding a competition for journalists

The Media Development Agency (MEDİA) has announced a competition for journalists.

As reported by BAKU.WS, to participate in the competition, it is necessary to submit an application and accompanying documents electronically through the portal mib.media.gov.az.

The main condition of the competition is to present material published or broadcast within the last 3 months before the date of the competition announcement.

The following materials are accepted for consideration:

A journalist may submit one publication placed in a print or online media resource within the last three months before the date of the competition announcement, in one of the following categories:

- best reportage;

- best socio-political analysis;

- best socio-economic analysis;

- best interview;

- best cultural piece;

- best opinion column;

- best investigative journalism;

- best feature story.

A journalist may also submit one video segment broadcast on an audiovisual media resource within the last three months before the date of the competition announcement, with a duration of no more than 5 minutes, in one of the following categories:

- best socio-political report;

- best socio-economic report;

- best thematic report (sports, culture, etc.).

The evaluation of materials is conducted by three independent experts engaged by MEDİA.

Based on the results of the competition, 5 winners will be determined in each of the categories for publications, and 5 journalists and 5 camera operators in each of the categories for video segments. All of them will be awarded.

Applications for the competition will be accepted until 18:00 on May 20, 2026.
