May Heat Approaching: Temperatures to Rise to 35 Degrees
In May, the air temperature will gradually rise, reaching the 35°C mark.
This was reported to BAKU.WS by the National Hydrometeorological Service.
According to the agency, observations in recent years show that weather conditions in May are becoming increasingly variable compared to previous years. The alternating impact of warm and cold atmospheric fronts on the country's territory causes noticeable fluctuations in temperature and pressure.
In May of this year, the average monthly temperature is expected to be close to the climatic norm, and in some areas slightly above it. Although the monthly precipitation will generally correspond to the climatic norm, intense downpours cannot be ruled out on certain days.
In the first days of the month, brief precipitation is forecast in a number of mountainous and foothill areas. From the second half of the first ten-day period, increased precipitation is expected in most areas.
In Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, the average monthly air temperature will be 18–20°C, which is close to and slightly above the climatic norm. At night, the thermometer will drop to 12–17°C, during the day it will warm up to 20–25°C, and on certain days up to 27–32°C. The monthly precipitation is expected to be near the climatic norm of 18–21 mm.
