Heavy rains to hit Baku and regions - WARNING

Unstable weather with periodic precipitation is expected in Azerbaijan over the weekend.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Deputy Head of the National Hydrometeorological Service Gulnara Abbasova.

According to her, on June 26 in the afternoon, rain will occur in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, and from the evening of June 27 until the morning of June 28, the precipitation will become torrential in nature.

G. Abbasova emphasized that brief intensification of rain is possible during nighttime hours. The rainy weather is expected to last until the daytime hours of June 28. On the same day, a strong northwesterly wind will blow:

"In the regions of Azerbaijan, unstable weather with periodic precipitation is forecast to persist until June 29. In some areas, intense and heavy precipitation, thunderstorms, hail, rising water levels in rivers are expected, and in some mountain rivers, short-term floods and mudflow events cannot be ruled out."

According to G. Abbasova, updated information about the forecasted rainy and unstable weather across the country will be regularly communicated to the public.
