Hajj from Azerbaijan to be postponed due to war? - Official statement
The quota for accepting documents for participation in the Hajj pilgrimage has already been filled by 96%.
This was reported to Oxu.Az by the head of the external relations department of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB) and head of the electronic Hajj system, Vusal Jahangiri.
According to him, the tension in the region will not affect the organization of the pilgrimage.
"Since the escalation of the conflict and the rise in tension, we have organized several Umrah pilgrimages, and in none of the cases did any problems arise. With Allah's permission, the Hajj pilgrimage will be conducted in the same manner. If necessary, alternative routes will be used," he noted.
V. Jahangiri also emphasized that the cost of the Hajj pilgrimage this year is 6,100 US dollars, which is 10,388 manats.
"The acceptance of documents for participation in the Hajj pilgrimage will continue until mid-April. Among the applicants, middle-aged individuals predominate. The first flight of pilgrims is scheduled for May 17. There will be 180 people in this group," the CMB representative added.
