SOCAR AQS company will drill eight wells in Turkey in 2026-2027.

As Report reports, this was announced by SOCAR AQS manager for Turkey Elvin Nasibov at the IADC Drilling Caspian & Black Sea 2026 conference and exhibition in Baku.

According to him, SOCAR AQS has already expanded its business in Turkey: "The subsidiary company SOCAR AQS Sondaj was founded in 2019. Our first project covered wells for underground gas storage for the Turkish gas company BOTAŞ. The scope of work included drilling 28 wells based on a turnkey contract. In addition to drilling, we also provided other well servicing services. Despite difficulties, we successfully drilled all 28 wells".

He noted that the company currently operates in Turkey with two rigs: "One of them is the HH300, truck-mounted. In Turkey, mobility is very important for onshore drilling operations. We use this equipment for work for Çalık Petrol in the Southeastern Anatolian Basin. We have already drilled two wells on a day rate basis and are currently working on a third well under a turnkey contract, also providing additional well services".

Nasibov emphasized that the second is the mechanical rig MR8000, which is also truck-mounted: "We operate it as part of Turkish Petroleum projects in the Southeastern Anatolian Basin. The scope of work provides for drilling eight wells on a day rate basis over the next two years".
