WhatsApp will have a new function

A feature called "Guest Chats" has been discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android, which will allow messenger users to exchange messages with unregistered people. This was reported by the WABetaInfo portal.

When creating a new chat, users will be able to choose the option to communicate without specifying a phone number. The application will generate a unique link that can be sent to the conversation partner. By following this link, the recipient will open the web version of WhatsApp with an already created chat.

Communication within "Guest Chats" is possible without time limitations, but with certain functional restrictions: only text messaging is available. Sending media files, documents, stickers, and GIF animations is not supported. At the same time, all messages are protected by end-to-end encryption, just like regular chats.

It is noted that if the conversation partner registers in the messenger in the future, they will have the opportunity to save the guest chat and continue the dialogue in the standard format.

WABetaInfo believes that the implementation of this feature may be part of Meta's strategy to expand WhatsApp's user base. No information has been provided yet about when "Guest Chats" will be launched in the stable version of the application. The feature will likely appear in one of the upcoming major updates.
