Vladimir Putin announced an Easter ceasefire
Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced an Easter ceasefire.
As reported by TASS, this was announced by the Kremlin press service.
"By the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in connection with the approaching Orthodox holiday of Easter, a ceasefire is declared from 16:00 (17:00 Baku time - ed.) on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026," the statement says.
As noted in the statement, Moscow expects that the Ukrainian side will follow Russia's example with the Easter ceasefire.
According to the information, Putin also instructed the Russian Armed Forces to halt combat operations for the duration of the ceasefire, but to be ready to respond to the enemy.
