US Begins Dismissing Immigration Judges
World 4

The United States Department of Justice has removed several judges who handled immigration-related cases, despite more than 3 million backlogged cases and President Donald Trump's promises to fight illegal migration. This was reported by NBC News, citing sources.

According to the TV channel, since the beginning of the Trump administration, more than 20 immigration court employees have been dismissed, as well as at least four senior executives and five mid-level executives in the Executive Office for Immigration Review.

It is noted that in the last three years, the United States has recorded record delays in immigration case processing. The Congressional Research Service specifies that in 2024, over 1.8 million new cases were submitted to the office overseeing such courts, resulting in the total backlog of unresolved cases growing to 3.6 million by the end of last year.

On February 14, the administration of US President Donald Trump sent a valentine to illegal immigrants in the country featuring the faces of Trump himself and border security coordinator Tom Homan. It was published on the White House's official X social media account.
