US President Donald Trump, in an address to Republican senators at a White House breakfast, once again expressed his intention to stop the conflict in Ukraine.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to RBC, the broadcast is available on the White House YouTube channel.

"We have done tremendous work to end wars. We have stopped eight wars. Eight wars. We have another one to [stop], as you probably know, and this war will be stopped too," he said.

During his second presidential term, Trump has credited himself with ending eight conflicts - between Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, Egypt and Ethiopia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Israel and HAMAS.

Even during his election campaign, he promised to end the conflict in Ukraine in one day, but after taking office, he admitted that it would take more time. In early November, Trump expressed confidence that he could achieve a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine in "a couple of months".
