The cost of a US operation in Iran has been named
The US may spend between 80 and 100 billion dollars on conducting operations in Iran, nearly three times the amount publicly stated by the Pentagon.
This was reported by NBC television network, citing sources familiar with the department's internal estimates.
According to the television network, Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense for Finance Jules Hurst stated at Senate hearings on July 14 that US expenditures on the operation in Iran, excluding repairs to damaged bases in the Middle East, are estimated at 30 billion dollars. This amount includes costs for replenishing ammunition stockpiles. However, Hurst clarified that this estimate was made several months ago and he did not have more recent data.
According to the Pentagon's internal estimates, factoring in base repairs, replacement of destroyed aircraft, and restoration of ammunition reserves, the costs of military operations could rise to 80-100 billion dollars. Sources believe that repairing US military facilities in Bahrain could cost 1 billion dollars.
