Shamkhani: Iran is ready for any scenario

Iranian Supreme Leader's Adviser Ali Shamkhani stated that any conflict in the Middle East has major regional consequences.

Shamkhani said this in an interview with Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen.

According to him, the experience of previous wars in the region demonstrates that conflicts "rarely remain local."

"Any spark can quickly grow into a comprehensive fire that will spiral out of control of those who originally planned it," noted Shamkhani.

He emphasized that the priority task for Iran currently is "complete readiness to respond to any threat."

According to him, Tehran understands the geography of the region and its own defensive capabilities better than any external forces.

Shamkhani also cautioned countries unfriendly to Iran against escalation.

"Any action reflecting hostile intentions [against Iran - ed.] will be met with a proportionate, effective, and deterrent response," said the Supreme Leader's assistant, emphasizing that Iran does not limit the geography of possible confrontation exclusively to maritime space and "has already prepared for broader and technologically advanced scenarios."
