Putin signed a decree regarding migrants

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree introducing significant changes to the employment procedure for foreign citizens. According to the new document, foreigners and stateless persons will be able to work in Russia without obtaining a patent after undergoing mandatory fingerprinting registration. The corresponding decree has already been published on the official legal information portal.
The innovation provides not only for fingerprinting but also for migrants to undergo mandatory medical examination. In particular, foreign workers will have to be tested for narcotic substances and dangerous infectious diseases.
"Foreign citizens and stateless persons have the right to carry out labor activities provided they undergo personal identification at a territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation," the official document states.
On the same day, the head of state signed another important decree concerning Ukrainian citizens who are illegally present on Russian territory. According to this document, they must either leave the country by September 10 or regularize their legal status in accordance with Russian legislation.
