Putin and Trump held a phone conversation

Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with American leader Donald Trump. The telephone conversation between the leaders of the two states was reported at a briefing by Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

"The telephone conversation between President Putin and President of the United States Donald Trump has just ended," Peskov said. "It was a very lengthy telephone conversation, lasting almost an hour and a half."

Trump had repeatedly stated his plans to speak with the Russian president in recent weeks. The American leader paid great attention to the conflict in Ukraine and expressed his desire to help bring it to an end.
