Pentagon Chief Orders to Suspend Air Force Reorganization

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered the Department of the Air Force to suspend all planning related to Air Force reorganization.
This was reported by Air Force and Space Magazine, citing a department spokesperson.
"On February 6, the Secretary of Defense ordered the Department of the Air Force to suspend all planning activities related to the 'Reoptimization for Great Power Competition' program," a department spokesperson told the publication. He specified that "the planning pause remains in effect until Senate-confirmed Secretary and Under Secretary of the Air Force take office and have the opportunity to review these initiatives."
According to the magazine, US President Donald Trump has nominated Troy Meink as Air Force Secretary candidate and Matthew Lohmeier as Under Secretary candidate. It is noted that the US Senate Armed Services Committee has not yet scheduled confirmation hearings for them. The publication estimates that the large-scale transformation plan for the Air Force and Space Force could remain in limbo for several months until the new department leadership takes office.
