Pakistan voiced demand for cessation of hostilities
Pakistan expressed readiness not to escalate tensions in the confrontation with India if the neighboring country stops the military operation "Sindur" and ceases other aggressive actions.
Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated this in an exclusive interview with Bloomberg TV channel.
"We have been saying all this time that we will not do anything against India. If India backs down, we will definitely roll back our military actions. But as long as we are being attacked, we will have to respond, we will have to defend ourselves," emphasized the head of the defense department.
When the journalist inquired about the possibility of diplomatic negotiations after a series of mutual strikes, the minister replied that he was "not aware of such contacts."
