Media: Three countries convinced Donald Trump not to strike Iran
Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar "made significant diplomatic efforts" to persuade US President Donald Trump not to attack Iran and give Tehran "a chance to show good intentions."
This was reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP) citing a Saudi official.
According to the information, the three states warned Washington about "serious consequences for the region" in case of escalation.
The source added that "negotiations are ongoing to strengthen the achieved trust and maintain a positive attitude."
Earlier, the American president warned that he is seriously considering the possibility of using force against Iran.
