The Washington administration expects Iran to agree to allow UN inspectors access to its nuclear facilities.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Axios portal, the US is prepared to provide Tehran with access to part of its previously frozen assets in exchange.

According to its sources, "the US would like Iran, as a result of the first round of negotiations, to invite UN inspectors to its nuclear facilities that were bombed by the United States and Israel."

"In return, the US is prepared to provide Iran with access to part of its frozen funds, starting with an account of $6 billion in Qatar," the publication specifies. According to the portal, the Iranian side may use these funds to purchase essential goods.

Technical consultations between the US and Iran are expected to take place in Bürgenstock on June 21. Representatives of Pakistan and Qatar will also participate.

US Vice President JD Vance previously stated that issues related to Iran's nuclear program and the ceasefire in Lebanon will be among the main topics at the upcoming negotiations.
