MEDIA: Russia is preparing a multipurpose strike on Ukraine in the coming days

Russia may soon launch a multi-purpose retaliatory strike on the territory of Ukraine in response to the attack on strategic aviation airfields, Reuters reports citing American officials.

According to the publication's sources, the Russian side plans to respond to the Ukrainian "Web" operation with a series of air strikes using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. One of the American officials emphasized that Moscow is preparing an "asymmetric" attack.

"A Western diplomatic source said that while Russia's response may have already begun, it is likely to intensify and strikes will be carried out against symbolic Ukrainian targets, such as government buildings, in an attempt to send a clear signal to Kyiv," the publication says.
