Media: Iran is dragging out negotiations due to pressure from the IRGC
Iran is stalling negotiations with the US due to pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which is insisting on a tougher stance.
This was reported on April 21 by the Axios portal.
"The Iranians are stalling the negotiations due to apparent pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the negotiators to push for a tougher position: no negotiations until the American blockade is lifted," the publication states.
According to the portal, Pakistani, Egyptian, and Turkish intermediaries urged the Iranians to come to the meeting. US President Donald Trump threatened to resume bombings if an agreement is not reached, but has already added one day: the deadline has been moved to Wednesday evening.
