Media: F-35 Burns at US Military Base in California

A fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet caught fire and burned at Miramar Air Base (California).

According to its information, the incident occurred around 10:00 local time (21:00 Baku time - ed.). The U.S. Marine Corps characterized the fighter jet fire as an "aircraft mishap" that occurred on the runway. Footage taken from a helicopter shows a charred fighter jet and thick clouds of smoke. No information about the causes of the incident has been provided yet.

The average price of a single F-35 can exceed $80 million.
