Magnetic storm forecast for the coming days

The peak of geomagnetic disturbances has already passed, reports Mikhail Leus, a specialist from the "Phobos" weather center, in his Telegram channel. According to his forecasts, the Earth's magnetic field will completely stabilize by the weekend.
"The geomagnetic field will finally return to a calm state on the night of Saturday. However, the peak of disturbances has most likely already passed, and for most of the time, the geomagnetic field will be in a slightly disturbed state," the expert shared.
The meteorologist explained that the current magnetic storm arose due to the Earth's interaction with a stream of solar wind - fast, dense, and high-temperature. The source of this phenomenon was a large coronal hole on the Sun's surface.
According to Leus, the probability of new magnetic storms forming on March 27 is 50%, and on Friday it will decrease to 36%.
Recall that on Wednesday, specialists recorded a disturbance in the Earth's magnetic field that reached a moderate level G2. This level is potentially dangerous for the planet's energy systems. During storms of such intensity, disruptions in radio navigation and high-frequency radio communications are possible.
