Iranian air defense systems deployed in Armenia
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has published footage of exercises in which Armenian military personnel used air defense systems acquired from Iran and India.
This was reported by the Telegram channel "Free Iran."
During the exercises, the Iranian low-mobility short-range air defense system "Majid" and the Indian medium-range Akash system were demonstrated.
The release of the footage came against the backdrop of expanding military cooperation between Armenia and Iran.
This cooperation highlights contradictions in Armenia's security policy. On the one hand, Yerevan is expanding military and political ties with the West, while on the other hand, it is deepening defense cooperation with Iran, which is under serious pressure from the United States and Western countries. The demonstration of Iranian air defense systems on Armenian territory indicates that these relations have already gone beyond political statements and moved into the military-technical domain.
