Iran launched missiles toward the base on Diego Garcia island

Iran launched two ballistic missiles toward the joint British and American military base on the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to The Wall Street Journal, the missiles did not reach their target.

According to the newspaper, American military forces used an SM-3 interceptor missile to intercept one of the missiles. However, as WSJ notes, it remains unclear at this point whether the operation was successful.
